Update: Another update has now been made to the results, however currently the M65L results are not correct yet.

We have now made available all the results that have been processed so far, both overall results and split times. We are working hard to get through the remaining results to be made available tomorrow (Tuesday 22).

We also working to publish the results through RouteGadget asap.

Due to unfortunate circumstances we are having to cancel day one of this years Alternative Capricorn, on visiting the site for a final planning visit last weekend contractors have unexpectedly turned up and started felling operations in the main/only part of the forest to be used for the sprint event.
DAY 2 WILL HOWEVER CONTINUE AS NORMAL.

If you have already entered for day one and are not wishing to now run on day 2 you will receive a full refund. Those competitors who still wish to run on day 2 may either pick up a refund on the day or have it reimbursed to there bank.

Capricorn Alternative Event Initial Details

As I mentioned last time we are still putting an event on the same weekend albeit a different format. The arrangements are as follows:
Saturday 19th July - Sprint Race at Ulpha, located just off the main A590.
Sunday 20th July - Regional Event at Great Tower.
More details and entry forms should be available in the next two weeks, keep checking back for more details.

Unfortunate News

Due to circumstances beyond our control we regret that the Capricorn 2008 will not be taking place, this is due to a Major Landowner in the area we were to use withdrawing permission having already granted access. We have done everything within our power to try and rectify this problem unfortunately this has come to nothing, due to the relative lateness of this news to us we are unable to find a fallback area in time.
Competitors who have entered by cheque should have had these returned to them, those entering online will receive a cheque through the post in the near future.

I can however reveal that we will however be doing a different event over the same weekend - though this may not appeal to all Capricorn competitors, the event will take the format of a Sprint Race on the Saturday and a Standard Regional Orienteering event on the Sunday utilising two top Orienteering areas in the South Lakes. I will hopefully be able to give you more details on this during the next two weeks, keep checking back to the website for more details.

The Capricorn is not dead yet though as we are well advanced in planning next years event having had received most permissions back, keep checking back for more details but I will tell you now it's a complete new area for a Mountain Orienteering event!

The Capricorn this year will be taking place over the weekend of the 19th - 20th July.
